Craniosacral Therapy, Therapeutic Massage & Yoga

As a Craniosacral Therapist, I use gentle, non-invasive touch – with the client fully clothed – generally between the head (cranium) and lower back (sacrum), to help restore ease and alignment – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I trained at the College of Craniosacral Therapy (CCST).

With Craniosacral Therapy, I am working primarily with the nervous system and the fascia (connective tissues) of the body, to enable the easing and release of acute and chronic tension and restrictions – whether caused by stress, trauma, illness, injury or birth. It is suitable for all ages – from newborn to end of life.

Craniosacral Therapy can help with a wide range of symptoms, including musculoskeletal (eg head, neck, back and joint pain), digestive, respiratory, neurological, psychological and emotional.

It can provide support to people experiencing major illness, stress or injury, complementing any medical treatment being received. And it can help our recovery from significant episodes in our lives – whether our own or those of our loved ones.

Craniosacral Therapy helps us feel balanced, aligned and grounded in our bodies and more comfortable in our skin. It can help us find greater clarity and peace of mind, and increase our feeling of wellbeing and boost our resilience.

I have worked as a complementary therapist for over 30 years, so bring a wealth of experience, including many years working in NHS General Practices and in a Hospice.

I also offer Therapeutic Massage – on its own or in combination with Craniosacral Therapy; and I teach Yoga Classes in the hall at the Spiro Clinic on Friday mornings.

My work is also informed and supported by training in Mindfulness and Counselling Skills.

I attended my first yoga class in 1991 in Soho, London, taught by the wonderful Julie Friedeberger. In 1994, I qualified as a yoga teacher, under her inspiring training! I am a British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher and my classes are based on the postures of Hatha Yoga.

Yoga has been one of my best friends since I started practising – invariably helping me feel more at ease in my body and more calm and at peace in myself. In my classes, I seek to help each student find this greater ease and peace within themselves too.

Our Friday morning yoga classes have been running in Ludlow for over 10 years. They are not drop-in classes. We all benefit from the continuity and community that comes from practising together regularly. We are a friendly bunch and new people are always welcome.

Our classes undoubtedly help us stay strong and more supple and we always enjoy a deep relaxation at the end. Students are all encouraged and supported to work in the way which enables them to get the most from their practice.

The fee is £8 per class, payable in blocks of usually between five and seven classes, to secure your place and keep the classes small and sustainable. You are invited to pay weekly for the first few weeks while you decide if our classes suit you.
